Milan Vs Barca

It was an amazing match. Fast paced, both teams looking for attack and getting in counters....a treat to watch.
Milan won 2-0. Goals by Boetang and montilivo. Though the first goal could have been disallowed. Was a hand ball but guess that's how it is.

Now it will be really diff from here for Barca to beat Milan 3-0. Second leg is at Camp Nou but still beating Milan with a diff of 3 goals wont be easy.

Milan is a young side but the way they played last night showed their character and determination. Looking forward to the second leg. An early goal by Milan and they will put the tie to the rest!

Playing XI for 1st test

With 4 left handers in top 6 and Jadeja’s left-arm bowling option, I think MSD will go in with both Bhajji and Ashwin given that both are decent batters.Mitchel starc is in terrific form off-late and if conditions favor some swing early, better to go with Dhawan so that all right handers to follow will not be exposed to swing bowling (sehwag should bat cautiously for the initial 15 overs).

If sehwag  handle siddle and starc carefully, he can launch later on against lyon, henriques given that aussies done have the services of Watson(best inswing bowler)
1.       Sehwag

3.       Pujara
4.       Sachin
5.       kohli
6.       Dhoni
7.       Jadeja

Why should we concentrate only on fast bowling.

Why should we concentrate only on fast bowling.
World Cup 2015 is not the only tournament.Instead of concentrating on single aspects of game, we should try to build a good team, having all type of players. A good bench strength is also required.

India has a lot of talents. Cricket is perhaps only popular sport here. We are undoubtedly very rich in talents. We always do well in Under 19(“WON IN 2000”, “REACHED SEMIFINAL IN 2002, 2004”, “REACHED FINAL IN 2006”, “WON IN 2008”, “REACHED QUARTER FINAL IN 2010”, “WON IN 2012”).

Thus, we have always been blessed with good, exciting young talents. Apart from these, we have some good players in Domestic cricket too. Important thing is “MANAGEMENT OF TALENTS”. It needs a change. Then, only we can have good bench strength. “HOW A PLAYER’S TALENT DECREASE WITH AGE ?” It’s still beyond my mind.

Where are the players like Dhiraj Jadhav, Venu gopal Rao, Sridhar Sriram, Tinu Youhanan, Sarandeep Singh? They were once knocking the door, why not today? What wrong did Ashish Nehra do in his last ODI(India v/s Pak in WC 2011, semifinal)?

OPENING BATSMAN

India always has produced some of very good opening batsman over the year. Sunil Gavaskar, K Srikanth, Navjot Singh Sidhu, S Tendulkar, S Ganguly, V Sehwag, G Gambhir are some example. However, it has become one of biggest concern in recent times in all 3 formats of the game.

Let’s have a Look at some of ODI opening batsman in India

1.       S Tendulkar : Undoubtedly, legendary batsman. Unfortunately, he is in wrong side of age. He is an automatic pick till the time he wants to play. His appetite for runs is unquestionable.

2.       V Sehwag : An explosive opening batsman. On his day, he can destroy any attack across the world. Whenever, he is in fine form, it looks like he enjoys a lot facing balls. Though, he is not so in good form, but I feel its matter of just one big innings, he will be back in form. As I mentioned above, in fine form he enjoys batting, hitting the balls, playing hide & seek with his bat and ball.

These days, maybe he is adding too much pressure on himself. Probably team management is not encouraging him much. He is getting dropped without any reason. According to me, he should be played in every matches. He will definitely deliver.

3.       G Gambhir : A very fine opening batsman, has all shots in his book. He can occupy crease for long time as well as can make quick runs. He has made runs on difficult tracks in past.I am not very very sure whether Tendulkar & Sehwag will be available till 2015 WC. In that case, Gambhir will have to take the leadership of Indian batting.
He will play at crucial batting position(No 1) and will be India’s most experienced batsman by that time, so it will be his responsibility to give India a good start. And, I believe he is quite capable of it.However, his form in last 1-2 year is a serious issueHe has not made runs, but he has been very very inconsistent. The management has to think about him and try to solve the issues with his batting.

4.       Ajinkya Rahane & Sikhar Dhawan : These two are currently perhaps best opening batsman in domestic cricket. They are making runs and strongly knocking the door. However, it’s hard to accommodate these two in national team, as long as Tendulkar, Sehwag & Gambhir are playing together. Selectors must make it sure that the guys keep becoming better batsman, so that they take less time to adjust themselves according to International challenges, whenever they get a call in National team.
This can be done by regularly selecting them in India A or other domestic competition. If everything goes well, at least one of them(maybe both)will be a good weapon for India till 2015. So, proper attention should be given to them to enhance their skills.

5.       Murli Vijay, Abhinav Mukund : These two are another talented players, who need to be groomed. Both have played for India in past. Murli Vijay has played in lot of  matches for India in past. I am sure, he is aware of the challenges of International cricket. I guess, he must have worked hard on his limitations(the reasons why he failed in International cricket) and tried to make himself a better batsman. He needs encouragement. He needs to be exposed on unfamiliar tracks. Same case with Abhinav Mukund.

6.       Unmukt Chand : Another young, opening batsman who has done well in recent times. He needs to be groomed properly.

The Big IPL teams :P

I’m very happy looking at the results of the BIG IPL teams in CLT20 :P :D . It is bliss to watch the all these teams losing to the minnows J. If we go with team by team performance :-

1)Delhi were clinical in their performances and they are just inch closer to making into the Top-4 . I don’t have any doubt on it and they can make in to semis J

2)The defending champions go back to home without even registering a single win :P :D. Apart from the match against CSK I felt they were not even close to winning J

3)The IPL runner up’s came back strongly once they were out of the tourney :P.

4)The IPL winners doesn’t look like a champions team at all , I felt that KKR didn’t played as a team in this CLT20 and the captain’s form was also a big concern and reason for their downfall J

I think many of you were also happy looking at these teams downfall :P

How referee-ManU relationship works

 - No. of penalties Webb has awarded Manu: 9 in 32 games. No. of penalties Webb has awarded Arsenal, Chelsea and Pool: Only 10 in 100 games.
- In 2008, after a cup loss to Portsmouth, here is what Fergie said: "I don’t think ... he’s doing his job properly and he needs to be assessed." , Hackett retired just months after that heavy criticism from Ferguson. “Coincidence”. Again.
- In the season 2011/11, Manu lost 2-1 to Wolves. The ref, Milchael Oliver was not given another Manu game to referee for one whole year.
- Michael Oliver refereed 2 games for Manu since their loss against Wolves (a year after) . Here is what happened in those 2 games:
Michael Oliver gave United a penalty for a shocking dive by Danny Welbeck in the home win against Wigan.
Oliver refused to give Fulham a clear penalty late in the game. United won 1-0.A game came right at the end of the title race.
- Remember in 2010/11, when Arsenal beat Manu 1-0. Chris Foy was the referee then. He wasn't assigned for a United game for an entire year after that.
- Foy did refereed 2 games for United (all cup games) in between that. Here is what happened in those games:
1) he first was in the Carling Cup against Cyrstal Palace. He awarded United a penalty but still lost.
2)The second was at City in the FA Cup. United got a penalty and Kompany was sent off early in the game.
- Mike Jones refereed Manu vs Newcastle in 2011/12 season. Game ended 1-1. Jones was not given ANY game for an entire month.
Couple of months later Mike Jones did get to referee a United game. It was against Stoke and they won 2-0. And guess what? Both penalties.
-Marc Clattenberg refereed Manu vs mancity in 2011/12 season. Game ended 1-6.  Clattenberg was not given any Manu game until now.
Now Clattenberg got to referee the Chelsea manu game you know what happened
Manu is a disgrace to English Football. and well english football is in itself a disgrace (the new italian serie A). corrupt world !
